I'm not willing to upgrade this CPU far enough for it to be worth the effort, because at that point, the CPU will greatly "out spec" the rest of the components on this machine, especially the motherboard. that's not gonna happen with this processor. Ideally, I want to achieve virtually NO latency, but. I'm using a pc mostly intended to be a 1080p gaming setup with a Rycpu, 32gb RAM, and I get "acceptable" quality sampling and latency. With a better CPU, you're going to have less latency and better quality. The higher your sampling quality (overall sound quality), the longer it takes for the CPU to process it resulting in a slight delay between when you press the key and when you hear the sound. Why? Because with sampling quality, lag also becomes a factor. Sampling quality relies heavily on the computers processor, and you are able to adjust the sample quality. The faster, the more high powered, the better. I also additionally bought the Mellotron V module for the great price of 75 bucks back when it was half off at GuitarCenter's website.įolks need to know that sound quality will depend on the processor your computer is using. It came with Stage-73 V2 which is an old Rhodes electric piano (used a lot by bands like Atlanta Rhythm Section, etc), Mini V3 which I think is some kind of Moog synth, and Augmented Strings. As for the ADDITIONAL special offer free modules. still trying to figure out which one I want to spend money on to use, so with that said, I haven't had an opportunity to use those effects. I don't currently have a DAW I'm working with. But it came free with some plug-in effects (some kind of reverb, maybe also a delay). I think it came standard with Analog Lab 4 and Analog Lab V, which appear to be like "grocery store sampler platters" of all the other modules they offer, just to get you interested enough to perhaps buy them. At the time, they were doing a deal where it came with 3 modules for free.

Can't remember exactly what I paid, probably around 130 bucks. I went with the Arturia Keylab 49 Essential. I am a total newbie when it comes to keys, but I've always loved mellotron sounds, so back in January I decided to go with Arturia as a means to have a mellotron. I don't know if any of this will address the original posters concern, perhaps not, but for the sake of providing an experienced assessment of Arturia products for any potential buyers here, consider this a review.
